To celebrate Science Week, Chessington World of Adventures Resort will be providing special workshops for children.

Chessington World of Adventures Resort

Science Week will take place between 27th and 31st March 2017.

In addition to the usual interactive education workshops at Chessington World of Adventures Resort, two new and exclusive Science Week workshops will be running throughout the week.

These workshops can both be tailored to suit all Key Stages and are predicted to last around 40 minutes each.

The first workshop will be titled Biology Art Attack and will encourage pupils to get creative with Science.

Pupils will get the chance to model and craft a variety of adaptations of habitats to understand and demonstrate how animals and humans are suited to their environment.

The second workshop will be the Balloon Car Engineering Challenge. This workshop will give schools the opportunity to learn about mass, momentum and forces.

A hands-on challenge will see pupils testing which balloon powered car will be the fastest in order to win at a race.

The education centre can cater for groups of up to 35 pupils at a time.

There will also be a self-guided Scientific Discovery Challenge for pupils to complete in groups as they make their way around the theme park and live Science demonstrations will take place each day.

Schools will also be able to see the brand new Asiatic lion cubs and learn more about species in threat of extinction in a Conservation workshop.

Chessington World of Adventures Resort is home to Chessington Zoo, Go Ape, SEA LIFE centre and a theme park. There are also various daily activities for visitors and schools to take part in.
