Attractions and providers support the School Travel Awards initiative by becoming Awards Partners, and all category options were snapped up and finalised in record time for 2025 in a huge endorsement.

School Travel Awards 2024: Best Residential Experience

Awards Partners play a key role during the awards ceremony. Pictured is Nadine Wright from Imperial War Museums presenting the award for Best Residential Experience to Linda Green and colleagues from PGL at last year’s event.

The School Travel Awards is a special initiative that raises the profile of learning outside the classroom while rewarding and recognising the attractions, providers and people creating and supporting school trips.

Each year the programme also enables schools to win big as it brings all corners of the sector together at a five star lunch and ceremony in London, with special guests.

The backing of the Awards Partners is key to the success of the School Travel Awards and all category partnership packages sold out in record time for 2025.

Senior group sales manager for School Travel Organiser, Sharon Yandell commented: “A large majority of Awards Partners reconfirmed their commitment even before the 2024 ceremony and by Christmas nearly every single category opportunity was taken. We actually sold out and allocated all category partners by February - that’s over nine months before the awards ceremony takes place.

“We’re thrilled with the backing of the sector and are so grateful to the attractions and providers that continue to be a part of this unique initaitive that not only rewards the best but also highlights the importance of school travel and educational visits.”

The initiative also involves schools that can win £2,500 to spend on an educational visit through the ‘My Best School Trip’ Award, just like Langdale CE Primary School did in 2023, here pictured on their winning day trip to Liverpool for Key Stage 1-2.

What do our Awards Partners say?

Imperial War Museums is supporting the awards again. Ngaire Bushell at IWM told us: “The School Travel Awards are incredibly important for celebrating work occurring across the sector, giving schools the opportunity to recognise enrichment activities in museums, galleries, and heritage sites, highlighting the value and importance they play in supporting the growth of confidence and subject knowledge in young people.”

Tilly Bedford at Gravity Active said: “The School Travel Awards highlight the best in educational and reward trips, recognising the dedication of teachers and venues that create unforgettable experiences for students. They help to promote the value of school travel in boosting learning, confidence, and well-being.”

A special thank you to our 2025 Awards Partners…

Each year nominations are opened and when finalists are shortlisted, readers are asked to become involved again by voting for who, what and where they think should win across multiple categories such as Best Provision for SEND, Best School Tour Operator, Best Museum Visit, and Best Education Workshops.

The winners are then revealed in a fantastic event that attracts over 300 guests for lunch, networking and the ceremony itself. This year’s School Travel Awards ceremony will take place at the five-star Royal Lancaster Hotel, London on Friday 21st November 2025. For event information and ticket bookings click here.
