These hands-on workshops are for groups of up to 32 learners and self-led activities are linked to the National Curriculum for design & technology, computing, science and history.

The Signaller’s Challenge tasks KS1 pupils tobuild their own working model of a fixed signal, and the Running on Time Workshop (KS1 and lower KS2) challenges pupils toinvestigate the jobs performed at the station needed to keep the railwayrunning on time.

Other sessions are King Coal Workshops incorporating a hands-on demonstration of a model steam engine to explore the role of coal, along with Just the Ticket, an interactive school trail which helps learners to explore the station and solve puzzles.

Sensational Stations encourages pupils to use their senses to investigate the different parts of a railway station, what can be found there, and what makes them important.
