The outdoor learning organisation has a number of teacher and educational leader-based events coming up this year, which provide those with the skills to carry out good LOtC practise with their schools.
On 18th May, a Dirty Teaching - Developing a Whole School Approach to Learning Outdoors day will take place at Ringmer Academy in East Sussex. This course will help teachers and educational leaders looks at ways in which to embed outdoor learning into teaching and the curriculum.
Taking place on 21st September is the Outdoor Maths - Places Value, Nature Counts learning day which is suitable for Primary school teachers and those who work with Key Stage 1 and 2 groups. This session will take place in Mill Woods in East Sussex and will help those involved create fun Maths lessons using the outdoors.
On 13th October, again at Mill Woods, a Level 2 Award - Food Safety in the Outdoors with Outdoor Cooking day will take place, suitable for those looking to get involved with Forest Schooling.
A Forest School Skills - Foraging & Fire course will take place on 20th October in Mill Woods, which will allow those already involved in Forest Schools to refresh their skills, as well as introduce newcomers to outdoor learning.
About Circle of Life Rediscovery
Circle of Life Rediscovery is an organisation which aims to provide schools and educational organisations with the training they need to be able to offer quality outdoor learning to the younger generation.
The organisation also runs overnight residentials which take place in the woods and allow pupils to get hands-on with forest activities.
Activities include camping, fire making, tool use, mapping exercises, ropes and knots, and bird knowledge among others.
