Pupils can learn about key figures from World War One and World War Two.

The new sessions will look back at 1945, and mark key anniversaries and important stories from 80 years ago, with opportunities to take part in arts and poetry and remember key figures and moments from recent history.

On 12th June, Key Stage 3 learners can visit to mark Anne Frank’s birthday, honouring her and her impact on the world. A variety of activities including arts and poetry will be included, as well as exploring memorials and the Garden of Innocents, home to Anne Frank’s Tree.

New for 2025, VE Days are available for school visits year round. Designed for Key Stages 2 and 3, these immersive experiences allow students to investigate the events, stories and heroes of the two World Wars.

Learning guides lead pupils for activities and guided tours during visits.

Interactive activities and creative projects will allow learners to gain an understanding of the impact and personal stories from these historic events. All activity days include two classroom activities, a guided tour and an act of remembrance.

School groups can also take part in interactive guided tours led by learning guides. Guided tours feature a range of both civilian and miltary memorials and can be tailored to specific groups. Self-guided visits, including opportunities to explore the arboretum and free exhibitions are also available.
